Thumbelina

Thumbelina is an original story ballet created by choreographer and AVD co-director Ashley Hensel-Browning. It features a cast of 10 dancers, a narrated musical setting by Vermont composer Evan Premo of Scrag Mountain Music, and sets and props by Vermont artists Mark Yuengling, Evie Lovett, and Elizabeth Billings. 

Thumbelina premiered in Summer of 2021. It has been performed in various locations around southern Vermont, including White River Junction (2024) and Norwich (2025) as part of The Junction Dance Festival, Riverside Park in Springfield, VT (2021, 2024), Chester (2021), and Retreat Farm in Brattleboro, VT (2024).
